Introducing Replit Teams

The Replit Team

In today's fast-paced work environment, using real-time collaboration tools like Google Docs and Figma comes naturally to most of us. As a result, we've come to expect a lot more from our tools. Yet, when it comes to building software, we often find ourselves stuck with tools built for a different era — tools that cause our teams to feel siloed, inefficient, and less collaborative overall.

In decades past, the software development lifecycle looked like a rigid industrial process: product managers would hand off documents to designers, and designers would hand off mock-ups to engineers. Today, however, the process is much more fluid and cross-functional. Engineers contribute to design, product managers prototype, and designers code. Still, engineering tools have remained inaccessible to everyone except engineers, preventing meaningful contributions from other roles, and slowing everyone down.

This led us to wonder: What would it look like to design software collaboration tools that truly meet the changing needs of 21st-century teams?

Introducing Replit Teams

Go from idea to software faster than ever before. Today, we’re announcing that Replit Teams is generally available and here to set a new standard for building software.

A demo of Replit Teams

Replit has grown to a platform empowering over 30 million software creators worldwide, and we've increasingly seen our users bring Replit to work. Whether they're building nimble prototypes, custom internal tools, or even entire startups, Replit Teams enables organizations of all sizes to bring the power and ease of use of Replit into the workplace.

Built for the "AI-native developer" of 2024

Over 50% of Replit’s business signups today are not engineers. Building software in your daily work as a professional is becoming the norm. With Replit, things that previously required expert help can now be done by individuals who are curious, highly autonomous, and driven to solve their problems.

We've designed Replit Teams to take the pain out of creating software. With Replit AI, you can plan your project's technical architecture, generate code, and debug errors as they arise. This AI assistance can fill knowledge gaps, empowering non-engineering team members to start creating software, too. Development is more accessible and efficient than ever before, and you can be the one to bring AI literacy to your organization with Replit.

Start coding in seconds instead of days

Without Replit, one of the biggest time-sinks in development is environment setup. With Replit Teams, you can have a fresh working environment ready in just a few clicks — no manual installations or configuration needed. Use the Replit web client from your favorite browser, get deeper focus in our desktop client, or pull up the mobile app to write code on the go. Built-in integrations, like databases and object storage, make it simple to add live data into your projects, and they’re all available in one place.

When you’re ready to share your work with the world, you can deploy directly to a production server from the editor. Replit has streamlined the entire software creation lifecycle — from idea to production — eliminating the need to coordinate with with multiple vendors and tools.

Breathe life into your static code repository

Modern organizations are incredibly lively and dynamic. The code repositories that power their work should be, too. When you bring your codebase to Replit, you'll get a dashboard that brings your Git tree to life. See who's online, check on in-progress work, and jump in to unblock teammates when needed.

Replit Teams sets a new standard for modern software development collaboration. Instead of sharing screens and copying/pasting code, you can work together as easily as writing in a shared document. Collaborate and ship from a shared environment, with both real-time and asynchronous options. Work in parallel, pair program, and debug as a team to share context and build efficiently.

Ready for the workplace

We understand the importance of security and reliability when bringing a new tool to work. We’ve spent the past few months getting Replit ready for enterprise by shipping:

  • SAML SSO support
  • Role-based access control (groups and permission model)
  • Centralized billing and usage
  • SOC-2 compliance
  • Dedicated support
